My neighbor had a termite treatment done in their house. Do I have to get it done too?

It is not necessary that the termite problem will be there in your home. However, you must get your home inspected to be assured that the problem hasn’t spread in your home too. Termites are subterranean (therefore they have colonies in the ground) and tend to be widespread in some areas. If your neighbor has termite problem it means that the termites are present in the soil where you live and you must be concerned about avoiding infection in your house.

I see big black ants in and around my home. Are they also responsible for damage?

They are carpenter ants and though not bad; they actually destroy wood too. They often chew wood to make hollow "holes" in order to establish a suitable nesting site. These ants are often found in areas having moisture since the structures in such places are easier to attack.
